Grade Master Africa ("we", "our", "us") collects the following information when you use our app:
Account Information: Email address, name, and profile picture from Google Sign-In.
Usage Data: Questions asked, subjects studied, and daily usage counts for subscription management.
Payment Information: Payment processing is handled by PayPal and Yoco. We do not store credit card numbers.
We use your information to:
- Provide AI tutoring responses tailored to your grade level and subject
- Manage your subscription and daily question limits
- Improve our AI tutor's accuracy and relevance
- Send important account notifications
Your questions are sent to AI providers (OpenRouter, Google AI) for processing. These providers process your queries to generate educational responses. We do not use your data to train AI models.
Your data is stored securely on encrypted databases. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- AI providers (to generate responses)
- Payment processors (PayPal, Yoco) for subscription payments
- Law enforcement if legally required
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing of your data
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator
Our app is designed for students of all ages. For users under 18, we require parental consent. We collect minimal data necessary for the tutoring service.
